Maltodextrin is a powdered product with no odor and a sugar like sweet taste.

It is used throughout the food industry to improve the structure of the food or act as a carrier in sweeteners , flavors and sports products.

Maltodextrin is a polysaccharide made up of chains of glucose molecules. Product grades are classified by DE ,  Dextrose equivalent , and is typically between 5-20. The higher the DE the shorter the chains and the product grade will behave more like glucose. A product with DE of 5 has almost no sweetness compared to sugar and that of DE20 -30 has the sweetness of glucose.
